In-home Care Articles » Define the Service
What is live-in care?
Live-in care can include many arrangements. It is unusual these days to find someone who is willing to trade chore or care services in exchange for room and board. Most live-in caregivers receive a salary or daily rate for their assistance. When arranging for care, the old adage of "you get what you pay for" rings true.
A live-in caregiver likely has his or her own room or space in the home. It is important that a written agreement exists to define exactly what services will and will not be provided in return for a stated benefit or sum of money.
A live-in caregiver may have specific days and times when he or she is "on" or "off duty."
