Home care is a service offered in your own home or within a senior living setting. These services may be more homemaker-related such as housekeeping, home maintenance, or meal preparation. Home care can also offer personalized, hands-on care such as assistance getting dressed, taking a shower or bath, or help with medications. Home care even extends to offering high levels of professional medical care by nurses, visiting physicians, therapists, and case managers.

The purpose of in-home care is to provide enough assistance to allow a person to remain in their current living situation. Home care can be arranged with a private duty caretaker, or the service can be arranged through and managed by a licensed agency.

These services are flexible and fluid. In-home care providers are willing to serve both the short-term and long-term needs of individuals. The caregivers and agencies are accustomed to altering their hours and days of service, based upon the needs and preferences of those in their care.

CHOICE Advisory Services is a FREE senior care referral agency.

We help define the options that will be of greatest interest to you.
